Asperger syndrome is a form of Autism, which affects the way people interact with others and identify with the world around them. Asperger syndrome can challenge how people communicate and create difficulties in understanding social rules and situations, which can cause anxiety and confusion.

The training course provides knowledge about what Asperger syndrome is and considers the various ways in which the condition may affect people suggesting strategies for providing support.
The aims of this training course are for learners to:

• Understand what Asperger syndrome is and how this relates to Autism Spectrum Conditions
• Understand the characteristics of Asperger syndrome and how these can be presented
• Understand how Asperger syndrome can impact on the lives of people in different ways
• Understand different theories and concepts about Asperger syndrome whilst confirming the facts
• Understand the legal and policy framework that underpins good Asperger syndrome practice
• Understand how to achieve and promote effective communication with individuals with an Autism Spectrum Condition including Asperger syndrome
• Understand how to provide effective support for people with Asperger syndrome

This training course can be delivered as a half or full day; it can be delivered in your workplace or at our training suites near Stockport.
