Cerebral palsy is a series of conditions which can affect brain functions potentially causing associated learning disabilities, challenges with body movement, communication and difficulties with processing information.

This training course provides learners with the skills and knowledge required to provide support to young people and adults with Cerebral Palsy and understand how the condition can affect different people in different ways.

The aims of this training course are for learners to;

• Understand the principles of supporting people with Cerebral Palsy
• Understand what Cerebral Palsy is, how it can affect people and how this can be presented
• Understand the potential changing behaviours and needs of people with Cerebral Palsy as they go through different stages of life
• Understand the behavioural, social, emotional and psychological effects of Cerebral Palsy
• Understand the importance of person centred care and individual support plans when encouraging participation of people with Cerebral Palsy
