ABC Level 3 First Aid at Work Qualification

Who Should Attend?

It is a requirement of Health & Safety law that employers should ensure the health and safety and welfare of their employees and the public. Employees must also provide adequate personnel, training and equipment to render first aid to their employees. This qualification covers the 3 day First Aid at Work course. All successful students will be issued with a new First Aid at Work Certificate which lasts for a period of 3 years, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualifications.

Entry Requirements

No Previous Experience or Qualifications are necessary . You must be able to kneel & bend down throughout the course to perform First Aid Techniques and for the final 3 practical assessments.

Course Content

Aims and principles of first aid
Prevention of cross-infection during first aid procedures
Basic Life Support (CPR)
Management of the unconscious casualty
Assessment and treatment of a casualty who is wounded, bleeding or shocked
How to deal with burns, poisoning and eye injuries
Assessment and treatment of common major and minor illnesses, including fractures, dislocation, head injuries, epilepsy and diabetes
Managing asthma attacks and choking
Legal aspects of first aid at work – record keeping and use of equipment
How the Qualification is Assessed

The Course is run at our fully equipped training room over 3 days. This is a single unit qualification, assessed by a 12 question multi-choice examination, followed by 3 practical assessments, including Incident Management, Dealing with Shock, Dealing with an Unconscious Casualty and CPR. Successful candidates must achieve a score of at least 9 correct answers out of 12 in the multi-choice examination before moving on to the practical assessments.

Completion Certificate

On successful completion of the course, the delegate will receive a Level 2 HABC (Highfield Awarding Body) FAW Certificate This is valid for 3 years. Course Prices

The individual price for First Aid at Work Refresher course is just £150 per person. Discounted rates are available for groups larger than 10 candidates. The Price includes a course book, pad, pen, course pack, the exam and the certificate. There are no hidden costs.
