The course will benefit all carers who work with the elderly who have dementia in both the care home and domiciliary setting.

It will explain how dementia can affect a person’s relationship to food and eating, including changes in eating habits and how this can effect their intake of food and drink

The course covers:
How to care for individuals with dementia to ensure a well balanced diet. As dementia progresses and eating becomes more difficult making changes to make mealtimes as stress free as possible.
• Food and nutrition
• A healthy diet
• Supporting people to eat and drink
• Possible reasons for Poor appetite
• Working with other professionals (Dieticians)
• Weight loss and malnutrition

We will also cover legislation, national minimum standards, employer and employees responsibilities.

This half day course can be delivered in your workplace or at our training suites near Stockport
