For anyone providing care and support to children and young people it is essential to know about the importance of keeping children safe from harm and recognising and indicators of abuse, harm and exploitation.

This training course provides learners with the knowledge required to protect children from the risk of harm and to know what to do and how to react if an allegation of abuse is made or if a suspicion of abuse occurs.

• Understand what child protection and safeguarding is
• Understand the indicators and actions which can constitute abuse
• Understand your own role in safeguarding children and young people from harm and abuse
• Understand how to respond to occasions of alleged or suspected abuse or harm of children and young people
