Description and objective: Your organisation holds personal data – information that identifies your workforce, customers, clients and possibly many other groups. You are responsible for processing and securing that information in line with the Data Protection Act 1998. Incorrect management of personal data can lead to individuals suffering, your organisation’s reputation being damaged and prosecution.
Fortunately, Data Protection compliance is not a particularly complex subject. This three day course is designed for managers with responsibilities that include processing personal data. Delegates will learn the requirements of the Data Protection Act and will understand how the Act provides a framework to help them achieve compliance. The course introduces the concepts of responsibility and liability that run throughout your organisation. The course also demonstrates how Data Protection legislation relates to other Acts and has to be applied in a global environment.
