Description and objective: This course begins by explaining the key financial statements - what they mean, how they interrelate, where the figures come from.

It then goes on to identify the key financial objective of most businesses as maximising profitability, that is achieving the highest possible profit with the least possible amount of cash tied up in the business. Ratio analysis and budgetary control are explored as tools that can help us achieve our objectives.
