Description and objective: Third generation mobile telephony will open the door for operators to increase the diversity and media richness of services offered to customers. This 1-day course provides a brief introduction into how the current 3G technical solution has been derived, followed by in-depth analyses of the types of services which will be available, comparing to those of today: WAP in Europe and I-Mode in Japan. Rounding off the day, Mark Briers from Manx Telecom will present on the opportunities for the Isle of Man business and consumer market of Europe's first 3G network.
The course will appeal to a wide variety of interests, from service developers to technical managers, telecoms analysts, strategists and those involved with marketing
