GPRS for MMS and Mobile Data Applications
Send A Message
Description and objective: The range of data services offered to GSM subscribers have been accelerating, from SMS-based voting and value-add services through to handset personalisation, dating and chat services and more recently, multimedia-messaging (MMS) offerings. This intensive one-day course evaluates the range and business models of current mobile services offerings and provides a crash course on the required technology enablers. The course also considers how the increasing demands of mobile services can be met by new mobile technologies with emphasis on end-user experience.
This one-day course will be of interest to mobile service developers and operators, including technical managers, network planners, dimensioning, and portal developers. It will also be of interest to technical analysts and consultants requiring an overview of the current status and future drivers of the mobile industry. Basic knowledge of the operation of mobile networks prior to the course would be an advantage for the first mornings session with discussions on GPRS technology, however the overall goal of the course is to emphasise the current consumer offerings and user experience and how this will change with future developments.
