Description and objective: The change from IPv4 to IPv6 is a major infrastructure change, requiring many years of development and interworking in operational networks. This course looks at the motivation for IPv6, the architectural changes in IP and supporting protocols such as ICMP, DHCP, and routing, at the interworking techniques available, such as tunnelling and dual-stack systems, and at the maturity of products and services to work with IPv6. Suitability: Familiarity with IPv4 protocols is assumed, including IPv4 addressing and the operation of DHCP, DNS, ICMP and basic routing protocols
