Send A Message
Description and objective: This course explains the techniques, principles and technology associated with implementing IP Quality of Service (QoS). The IETF's Integrated Services standard and accompanying protocols such as RSVP, RTP and RTCP are described, and how RSVP is used as a QoS signalling protocol to request a certain QoS is covered. This course describes the IETF's Differentiated Services standard and how it can be used to provide QoS on a per-hop basis, and explains how IntServ and DiffServ are used to provide IP QoS support in routers. MPLS and how it can be used to improve routing efficiency and provide a basis for good QoS support is described. This course also explains how IPv6 and class-based queuing all help to provide IP QoS.
