Description and objective: 1995 saw the publication of the 'Gang of Four's' book on Design Patterns; one of the most influential software publications of that decade, and the catalyst for a wealth of discussion, debate and research into a hitherto largely unexplored perspective on software design and development. This two-day course builds upon and expands Dodeca's Foundations of Design syllabus, exploring the true nature of patterns in a rigorous, formal manner, and taking delegates beyond a conventional and localised view of the development landscape.
