Description and objective: PERL PROGRAMMING TRAINING COURSE
This course provides a thorough coverage of the Perl programming language, which is the language of choice for CGI programming and any other areas that need good text handling, database access, system interaction, or a graphical user interface. The course covers how to use Perl and its standard libraries, the range of freely available libraries and specifically how to use Perl productively for data manipulation, report writing, database access, writing cross-platform applications, and writing GUI based applications.

Workshops on four of the largest library modules show the power and ease of use of the language, and give attendees experience of writing real applications.

The course assumes delegates are familiar with a procedural programming language. Knowledge of regular expressions or UNIX shell programming is beneficial.
