Description and objective: Accelerated Learning is a theory of development being used by many of the more progressive organisations across the world. The theory is quite simple to understand but how do you design training interventions to align with it?

When Colin Rose first published his book called ‘Accelerated Learning’ in 1985, he combined, in one single move, all of the (then) latest theory and research about learning and development into one simple model. This model was geared primarily towards the learning of foreign languages and, as such, could not always be applied to organizational development work. Much further work in Accelerated Learning has been in the area of children’s learning.

At Neos Learning we have taken this theory, added many aspects from more recent research and publications and developed it into a unique, practical, user-friendly model that can be applied to any training intervention. The purpose of this course is to provide delegates with a working understanding of Accelerated Learning and, more importantly, coach them in the various methods and techniques by which they can design training interventions using it.

This Neos course has been undertaken by the professional trainers of a number of Blue Chip and Public Sector organizations in the UK and Europe. Feedback from an experienced UK Blue Chip company trainer was
“..the best course I have been on – ever!”

The key objectives of the course are:

·Appreciate the development of learning and its organizational significance.
·Understand the basic principles of Accelerated Learning.
·Appreciate the design principles of the Neos Accelerated Learning model.
·Design a training intervention using the Neos model.
·Receive feedback and creative design consultancy for delegates designed intervention.

By this process, delegates will be understand the Neos Accelerated Learning formula and its associated design processes as well as taking one of their own training programmes and re-design it using the Neos Accelerated Learning model.

The word ‘Neos’ is Greek for new, unique or novel. This explains our ethos of training and development. As specialists in the provision of training for trainers, all Neos Learning courses use a combination of Accelerated Learning and other Brain-Based learning techniques. This means that our delegates receive the current theories of learning and development in a style that exhibits ‘best practice’ training.

The course is designed for a maximum of 12 delegates and assumes that the delegates have some working experience of training and development within organisations.

Another piece of client feedback concerning our trainers and their methods was from the Head of Learning & Development of an American based global organisation:

“…There is no doubt they are some of the best trainers I have come across on either side of the Atlantic (maybe THE best)…”

This course shares our techniques, processes and understanding that generates feedback like that – it is the ‘crown jewels’ of trainer training.
