Description and objective: Approximately 15% of UK firms evaluate their training Return On Investment - the majority do not. This course addresses this issue and provides both the skills and awareness of how to make Return On Investment an essential part of training life.
Around 1% of payroll costs, are spent on training and development every year in the UK. This is made up of the visible, direct costs of training like travel expenses and the less visible, indirect costs like loss of employee output and training department salaries and rent. Given this expenditure, organisations must believe that spending money on training will increase their business performance, either by:
Increasing their employees job performance, or
Simply ensuring that employees stay with the organisation by keeping them motivated and content.
In both cases, such investment is treated by management as a sum of money spent now that will generate increased profits for the organisation at some time in the future. However, very few organisations actually evaluate whether the programmes they have in place actually deliver on this expectation.
This unique 1-day course guides delegates through the various processes available to them to evaluate return On Investment (ROI) in training. It includes an in-depth analysis of such processes as the Kirkpatrick 4-level model and the Phillips ROI process. By the end of the programme, delegates will:
·Fully understand terminology in relation to ROI.
·Be able to apply this theory back to their workplace situations.
·Be able to link ROI to the other 3 elements of the training cycle vis a vis Training Needs Analysis, training design and training delivery.
·Have practice applying the theory to one of their own training programmes.
·Be able to link their training and development programmes to the overall Business Plan of their organisation.
The word Neos is Greek for new, unique or novel. This explains our ethos of training and development. As specialists in the provision of training for trainers, all Neos Learning courses use a combination of Accelerated Learning and other Brain-Based learning techniques. This means that our delegates receive the current theories of learning and development in a style that exhibits best practice training.
The course has been designed for a maximum of 15 delegates and is focused on individuals who have some experience of training and development within organisations.
Individuals who are interested in this course may also be interested in our 1-day course on Providing An Effective Training Needs Analysis.
