Description and objective: This course is aimed at individuals who wish to gain a nationally recognised Assessor's qualification. The course consists of an induction workshop, which will provide information on a range of assessment methods and techniques. Additionally it will focus upon ways of monitoring and tracking candidates’ progress whilst offering practical tips on portfolio building and evidence gathering. The programme is supported by way of a follow-up site visit by a competent assessor. Trainee assessors must demonstrate their ability to assess NVQ candidates over a period of time. Assessment is also by completion of a portfolio of evidence. The trainee must have two candidates (pre level 2 with less than 5 GCSE’s or equvilant) that are to be assessed at NVQ.

The programme is open to all those who have competence in the level of qualification for which they wish to assess.
