Description and objective: Aimed at fibre optic installers, test engineers and maintenance engineers, this course gives a good appreciation of laser safety. Primarily an awareness course it covers classifications of devices, hazards and procedures for working with laser sources. The successful candidate is awarded a 'certificate of competence' to work safely with fibre optic communications systems. Based on IEC 60825 parts 1 & 2 and BS EN 60825 parts 1 & 2.
