This 2-day technical course describes and discusses various techniques used to apply digital predistortion (DPD) to the linearisation of RF and wireless power amplifiers (PAs). Cellular networks, broadcast, satellite and terrestrial point-to-point systems all require linear performance from RF transmitters. However, modern modulation methods (such as OFDM and CDMA) demand levels of transmitter linearity that are increasingly difficult to obtain without PA linearisation. DPD is one such approach to PA linearisation. The course describes various DPD techniques and discusses how to implement them. Throughout the course, there will be plenty of opportunity to ask the instructor questions to help clarify understanding.
