The General Data Protection Regulation comes into force on May 25th 2018. Most companies will need to appoint a Data Protection Officer who will be responsible for data conformance and compliance with GDPR
Whilst there are many training courses that focus on the legislation, there are few, if any, that focus on how to plan and implement a continuous, GDPR compliance programme.
Recognising that companies need practical, hands-on instruction Manchester based SBS Cyber Security has developed a comprehensive training course for DPO’s. This immersive and interactive, 3-day course will enable delegates to plan and implement a continuous, GDPR compliance programme, using readily available software tools.
For any business, it’s a major undertaking and many will need practical guidance and the right data management tools that can categorise, control, encrypt and report upon their data.
The SBS, GDPR Training Course has been developed and will be delivered by Peter Farrer, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor and Implementer who is a renowned Information Security and Risk Management Consultant.
Who Should Attend?
You should attend if:
You know that your business needs to comply with GDPR.
You have recently, or will soon be allocated the responsibility of Data Protection Officer.
Your company has amassed huge quantities of unstructured data including Personally Identifiable Information – PIA, which needs to be structured.
You don’t know where or how to begin a GDPR conformance and compliance programme
You know you need to use data management tools, but which tools should you use and how?
Course Structure
The course will take the delegate through the GDPR legislation, teaching the practical application of data mapping using data management tools to enable proven and auditable conformance to preserve data privacy and the rights of data subjects. From the course, the delegate will understand how to manage, audit and prove legislative compliance to the Information Commissioner, insurers and independent audit, such that in the event of a breach, they will be able to demonstrate that they have protected their data subjects rights and identities, thereby maintaining their business reputation and minimising any fines or sanctions.
The course will conclude with a multiple choice examination, that leads to subject certification, based upon achieving the 60% pass mark.
